Health, Happiness and Hair!!!!

  1. Your employer is required by California state law to provide "reasonable accommodation" to help you perform your job. Just because your doctor cannot give a name to your symptoms does not mean they are non-existent or aren't worsened by the environment at the casino. Is there any department they could transfer you to without flashing lights and smoke? And if so, can you get any sort of documentation from your doctor that might support such a request?

Also, not that I don't think extensions would look amazing (I secretly hate that you look good in any hairstyle).. aren't you worried they might damage your hair further?

  2. In no way am I bad mouthing the establishment that I work for. I understand that accommodating me would then be showing me favoritism and they can't do that. I understand that saying "yes" or "no" could be a legality and they are just covering themselves. Following policies and procedures is what management is all about. Even knowing all of this, it doesn't make things any less frustrating. That was purely me ranting, and what I said was by no means a quote from management. My doctor released my with no restrictions on my request. I wanted to see if I could do it. I didn't want to say that I couldn't do it without trying. I tried and realized that I am not quiet ready to be back and I'm definitely not running at full steam, having a better idea of what I have and how to deal with it will help alot and when that happens I will be ready to return.
